History of Muharram Ul Haram
Islamic calendar starts from the month of Muharram ul Haram. This month is well known by the Muslims due to its historical occasions occurs in this month. On 1st Muharram ul Haram hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A) was martyred by the non Muslims. On 10th Muhamarram Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) including children and his friends were martyred by the Army of Yazeed at Karbala.
Hazrat Imam Hussain and their companions faced a lot of difficulties at the Place of Karbala. The army of Yazeed stopped the water of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and their companions. Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) Lashkar consists of 72 peoples and most of them were martyred in the desert of Karbala.
Due to the Shahdat of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) at Karbala this month became historic for the Muslims of the world.
Hazrat Abu Qatada (R.A) narrated that Hazarat Muhammad (SAW) said to the Muslims about Fasting on the day of 10 Muharram ul haram, this fasting will pardon the sins of the past whole year.
